Orleans Parish prepares for special election during Mardi Gras celebrations

An upcoming special election in Orleans Parish will decide the next state representative for District 93, which includes Central City, downtown, parts of the Garden District and Uptown, as well as the Warehouse District. However, there are concerns a much smaller number will turn out to vote in the special election, scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 18, because it falls on the same day as several major parades.
