Campaign Finance Specialist

The Wake County Board of Elections is seeking a Campaign Finance Specialist to manage communication support and report auditing for candidates and committees who file campaign finance reports at the county level. The Campaign Finance Specialist must maintain in-depth knowledge of campaign finance law and reporting schedules.

Responsibilities of the position include: 

  • Communicate with candidates and Campaign Committee Treasurers
  • Conduct financial audits of campaign finance reports
  • Refer late or non-compliant reports to the State Board of Elections for further investigation or financial penalties
  • Maintain directories and databases of elected officials and report filing statuses
  • Develop candidate and campaign finance informational guides
  • Manage the candidates and Campaign Finance section of the Board of Elections website
  • Organize and administer candidate filing
  • Assist Campaign Committee Treasurers with campaign reporting software
