Voter Registration Support Desk (Operations & Policy Analyst 2)

We have one Permanent (full-time) opportunity and one Limited Duration (full-time) opportunity available in the Elections Division of the Secretary of State’s office. The Limited Duration position is expected to last through June, 30 2025.

In-state remote work is available for this position with supervisor approval.

$5,228 – $8,003/per month Non-PERS Rate
$5,540 – $8,483/per month PERS Rate

In this position you will, with supervisory support, manage and operate the voting system certification program for the Elections Division. This program ensures that voting systems in Oregon are compliant with Federal and state requirements and meet the needs of county election administrators and the elections division.

Although there is substantial variety in day-to-day work of election administration, examples of frequent activities include, but are not limited to, the review of technical documents, ensuring compliance with State and federal law with vendors and county election offices, providing guidance to county officials on the operation of voter registration systems, traveling to county election offices, writing administrative rules, and writing instructional documentation.

Your application must demonstrate education and/or experience in the following:

A Bachelor’s Degree* in Business or Public Administration, Behavioral or Social Sciences, Finance, Political Science or any degree demonstrating the capacity for the knowledge and skills; and two years professional-level evaluative, analytical and planning work.
Any combination of experience and education equivalent to five years of experience that typically supports the knowledge and skills for the classification.

Credits must be from an accredited college or university. Transcripts must include name, coursework and indicate that a degree was obtained. On-line transcripts are acceptable for application. Ability to prioritize software bugs/defects
Ability to communicate technology-related information to a range of users skill levels
Excellent written and verbal communication skills – ability to communicate technical concepts clearly, concisely, and in plain language to a diverse audience

Preference may be given to applicants with election administration experience. Election administration experience means professional work experience directly engaged in the election process. Examples include working as a government employee conducting elections-specific tasks, such as creating ballots or answering voter questions, or providing professional services directly to a government entity which conducts elections, such as a county election administrator.

The salary listed is the non-PERS qualifying salary range. If the successful candidate is PERS qualifying, the salary range will reflect the additional 6%.
