Arizona Supreme Court could declare early voting unconstitutional

The state Republican Party is asking the state Supreme Court to end early voting in Arizona, a practice that has grown in popularity since vote by mail started three decades ago. In a lawsuit filed Friday, the party argues that the only constitutional form of voting is in person at the polls on Election Day — a mantra repeated by many who falsely believe the 2020 election was fraudulent and a position echoed in several bills introduced at the Legislature this year.
