Elections offices pivoted to Plan B when voting systems crashed Tuesday night

Supervisor of Elections websites in St. Lucie and Indian River counties basically were unreachable Tuesday evening as residents attempted to check results of the primary election. The Martin County website was unaffected by the problem. Signs of trouble began around 6:40 p.m., just before polls closed and early results were being tabulated, voting officials said. Both St. Lucie and Indian River county Supervisor of Elections websites are managed by VR Systems, of Tallahassee, and both experienced slow load times, limited-to-no access and other technical issues.
