Harpers Ferry, WV election finalized more than a year later

Voters in Harpers Ferry actually elected a third new member to town council in the municipality’s June 2019 election, but it took more than 13 months to make that determination given a legal dispute over whether four provisional ballots should be counted. Wednesday night’s court-ordered addition of the disputed ballots to the vote tallies resulted in the election of Nancy Singleton Case to town council and the defeat of incumbent town council member Charlotte Thompson.
