House Bill looks to bring voter registration to North Dakota

North Dakota hasn’t had voter registration since 1951. Some lawmakers are sponsoring a bill to bring it back. House Bill 1287 would require all voters to register either ahead of an election or on the day of an election. They could register by mailing a form to the county auditor at least 30 days before an election, when changing or renewing a license or ID card at least 30 days before an election, by filling out a form at the county auditor’s office within 30 days before an election, or at the polling location on the day of the election.
