MI Appeals Court overturns ruling on late-arriving ballots

The Michigan Court of Appeals on Friday reversed a lower court ruling that said late-arriving ballots must be counted, as long as they are postmarked the day before Election Day. The Republican-controlled Legislature had appealed the September ruling by Michigan Court of Claims Judge Cynthia Stephens that said ballots postmarked before Election Day could arrive as much as 14 days late and still be counted.
