NYC wants schools off list of early voting locations for 2020

Keep early voting out of schools next year. That’s what the de Blasio administration is saying ahead of a joint legislative hearing Wednesday. The New York City Board of Elections picked 61 early voting sites for this year’s election, including 33 schools. Parents, teachers and principals pushed back citing security concerns and loss of access for nine days. Next year, with four elections, Chief Democracy Officer Rini Fonseca-Sabune says the situation will be worse. She says the BOE already proved it has alternatives. Brigid Bergin, WNYC.
