Travis Co.’s 108 ‘fleeing’ voters not w/in margin of error

Travis County on Thursday said 108 people who checked in to vote on Election Day — only 0.088% of the 122,059 who voted — did not turn in their paper ballots. The number of votes was not within the margin of error for any of the ballot propositions and would not have affected election outcomes. It did, however, trigger a state law requiring that county officials manually rescan thousands of ballots, which caused election results to be delayed until 3:45 a.m. Wednesday.
