WI Senate passes election bills that face likely vetoes from governor

Republican lawmakers passed bills this week that they knew were doomed before they introduced them. Republicans in the state Senate on Wednesday approved bills that would alter the state’s election laws even though Democratic Gov. Tony Evers has made clear he is unlikely to approve them. They also signed off on a measure that would bar government officials from mandating COVID-19 vaccinations — another idea likely to face a veto.
