Election Assistant
The purpose of this position is to assist the Director of Elections in the Administration of elections. Lead and train intermittent employees at all satellite voting sites. Set up and manage election equipment, on demand ballot printers, poll pad voter check in stations and ADA compliant ballot marking devices at satellite voting sites. Lead Initiative Petition temporary staff. This position acts under the supervision of the Assistant Director of Elections.

Establish ADA compliant early voting sites, including sites for curbside voting. Determine staffing levels needed for each site. Ensure satellite voting locations are fully staffed.
Set up and manage election equipment, on demand ballot printers, poll pad voter check in stations and ADA compliant ballot marking devices at satellite voting sites.
Assists the Assistant Director of Elections with election night ballot tabulation by managing drop station election judges and travel teams.
Lead person in disseminating email from the election office official county account to the Director or Assistant Director of Elections.
Ensure department website has accurate and timely information. Coordinate with Communications to publish election material for posting on website, social media, newspaper/radio advertisement and direct mail.
Revises the statistics, as determined by the Governor’s election, all political subdivisions, for the purpose of all petition drives.
Record and analyze election office metrics, communicate with Director and Assistant Director on performance trends and metrics results.
Serve as lead voting registration contact for processing voters needing to update their voting records at satellite polling locations.
Assists Assistant Director of Elections with developing and proofing the ballot assignment chart for each election and assists in cross checking political subdivision splits within each precinct.
Assists in processing candidate filings for public office, assist candidates with voter information, election procedures.
Proofread ballot language.
Maintains working knowledge of election statutes.
Answers phones, directs calls to the proper staff, on Election Day.
Processes petitions by analyzing signatures, names and address of each individual petitioner against all voter registration records.
Registers voters, research voter information, and sends out voter ID cards and voter notification cares.
Assists with judge recruitment and voter registration efforts at times and places outside the normal working day.
Works extended hours during elections.
Maintain chain of custody on voting systems including OVOs, FVTs, poll pads, phones, ballots, and transportation cages.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Salary: $45,192.76
